It's 12:00 am and
Cesarina finishes her work at Saint Vincent de Paul association,
in Montpellier (France). It was November 2018, she was a volunteer in the
chapel Saint Jean, when she was proposed to work as a responsible for cooking.
It came from heaven because she was looking for a part-time job after classes.
She is studying the master Grande Ecole program in management at Montpellier Business School.
She starts her work at 7 o'clock in the evening from Monday to Saturday. Part
of her job is to welcome and guide volunteers, to manage dinner and to
guarantee a safe working and a caring and friendly voluntary service.
The first
dinner round starts at 8:00 pm for 38 homeless people approximately, who have
been firstly oriented by the 115 French service for urgent accommodation. They
eat and spend the night in the association. The second round starts at 9:00 pm for
other 20 people around, they only eat and then leave because it is just a food
service offered to everybody in the streets. Her schedule is well organized so
she can study and work at the same time. When she started working, she was
finishing the second semester of the second master's year.
She came to France in
early September 2017 as a grantee student from the government of her country,
the Dominican Republic. Since then, she has been doing an excellent student
path and working hard to improve her French. But she was called to do something
more. Some weeks after her arrival, she began to participate in the Catholic
student's Mass at the chapel Sainte-Bernadette, where she could reinforce her
purest love to God and could also find one of the loving ways to serve Him
beyond: she met Raphael, the person who is going to marry her soon. In late
2019, she finished all her master program and she started immediately her six
months internship as a jurist at GT Avocats in Montpellier. She has a dream:
"what would Jesus do?". She would like to start a spiritual project
for people in prison. She would like to impact on their lives with a transforming
message of love, forgiveness and reconciliation.
